Brief: Design a souvenir brochure and accompanying materials for the Stanley Kubrick showcase and exhibition at the British Film Institute.
Approach: It was important to me to create a visual language that reflected the style and themes of Kubrick's work. The repetition of circular shapes, varying transparencies of graphics and the dye-cut in the cover of the souvenir brochure, make reference to Kubrick's signature use of one-point perspective and his preoccupation with the complexity of human nature. The colour palette used throughout reflects the dark themes present in his films. The subtle, deep red is also a reference to Kubrick's obsession with the colour and its connotations with violence, obsession and desire.
